Pickleball Etiquette

When I was taught to play this areat and fun game, I took lessons from a world champion in Pickleball, Steve Cole. He still plays in some tournaments, mostly seniors and he still wins. Steve and his friends are responsible for Pickleball's growth in Las Vegas. He in fact runs the pickleball program at the Plaza Hotel in Las Vegas. He told me during either the first or second lesson "to never forget where you started from". Unknowingly at the time, that would effect my entire outlook on this game. Tthe growth of the game has turned into a sport, which is both good and bad. I love watching the elite players on TV. However, I don't like watching what is happening on local levels. I have no idea what to do to stop it.

Cligues of rec. players get together and dominate the courts in their community. These players are usually self rated, quality rec players, but they tarnish the spirit of pickleball.
